How to Restart an Enphase IQ Gateway or IQ Combiner

If your Enphase system is not reporting, appears offline, or stopped updating in the app, a simple restart may help restore communication. In most cases, this is a restart (power cycle) — not a factory reset.

When to Try This

Try restarting your Enphase IQ Gateway (Envoy) or IQ Combiner if:

  • Your system is not reporting
  • The Enphase app is not updating
  • Your system appears offline after a Wi-Fi or internet interruption
  • You were asked to restart the gateway by support

Before You Begin

  • Confirm your home internet is working
  • Have your phone ready so you can check the Enphase app afterward
  • Only perform homeowner-safe steps (such as turning an accessible breaker off and back on)

If you are unsure which breaker powers the system, stop and contact our Support team.

Restart Steps

  1. Locate the breaker that powers the Enphase IQ Gateway / Envoy.
  2. Turn the breaker OFF.
  3. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  4. Turn the breaker ON again.
  5. Wait a few minutes for the gateway to restart and reconnect.

If You Have an IQ Combiner

If your system includes an IQ Combiner, restarting usually means power cycling the gateway/combiner feed using the appropriate breaker. If you are not sure which breaker controls the system, contact our Customer Support team before proceeding.

After the Restart: What to Check

Open the Enphase app and check:

  • Is the system reporting again?
  • What is the Last Updated time?
  • Are any alerts still showing?

If the issue started after a Wi-Fi change, you may also need to reconnect the gateway to Wi-Fi in the Enphase app after restarting.
